Our Story
After 35 years protecting critical infrastructure and industrial control systems from cyber threats, I discovered that the people I cared about most, my friends, family, and fellow adults over 50, were often the most vulnerable online, yet had the fewest resources designed specifically for their needs.
Throughout my career securing power plants, manufacturing facilities, and industrial networks, I watched cybersecurity evolve from a niche technical concern to a daily reality affecting everyone. But while corporations invested millions in employee training and advanced security systems, everyday users were left to navigate an increasingly dangerous digital landscape with outdated advice and overly technical resources.
The turning point came when I realized that the same methodical, practical approach I used to secure industrial systems could be applied to personal cybersecurity. Adults over 50 don’t need another complicated manual, they need clear, actionable guidance from someone who understands both the technology and their real-world concerns.
This personal mission led me to create “How To Be Cyber Secure 50 Plus,” a resource dedicated to translating complex cybersecurity concepts into practical, implementable steps. My approach focuses on the 80/20 rule: covering the most common threats and essential protections that provide maximum security benefit with minimal complexity.
Since launching this educational initiative, I’ve helped many adults build confidence in their digital lives through step-by-step guidance, practical troubleshooting tips, and real-world examples drawn from decades of field experience.
